CASE 8) The client is from one of the island countries. He came to New Zealand in 2014 with a visitor visa. Then he was told that his cousins would extend his visa, but it never happened. When he realized he became unlawful. He has been hiding for the past six years doing odd cash jobs. He hired a lawyer to apply for his section 61, but it took 13 months to prepare, and when it was submitted, it was declined even without consideration.
After several declines of section 61 and spending tens of thousands of dollars on his lawyers' fee, he organized a paid phone consultation with Simon, our CEO. Simon requested to get all of his client's files from INZ. He was able to see how the previous lawyers worked on his case, which was quite disappointing.
After analyzing the client's situation, he went to the Associate Minister of Immigration to get the ministerial intervention, which was successful. Then he applied for section 61 work visa, and it was granted today. Now our client is lawful and can work in New Zealand to support his family. Our office will engage with him to apply for his next visa.
Case 9) Immigration Trust engaged with a client whose partnership based resident visa was challenged, and her work visa was expired. She became unlawful and organised a paid consultation with us then engaged with us straight after. We handled the case and submitted her section 61 application to make sure her existing resident visa is still alive. Now she got her work visa, and we will resume her resident visa application.
Case 10) A female client came to us after being unlawful in New Zealand for 18 months. A compliance officer was searching for her. The officer emailed her mother in her home country to let her know that once she is caught, she will be deported.
The client organised a paid phone consultation first. Then she engaged with us the next morning. Simon, our CEO, immediately communicated with the Compliance Officer of INZ to request several weeks for him to prepare for Section 61 application which was granted.
He regularly communicated with the compliance officer on behalf of his client and prepared and submitted the Section 61 application in time.
Today, 15 September 2020, he received a visitor visa for her, so she becomes lawful. She decided to engage with us again for her next visa application.
