We recently assisted the Wellington Indian Association in securing work visas for three skilled musicians from India to perform at the 2024 Navratri and Diwali celebrations. Held at the Indian Cultural Centre in Wellington, these events play a vital role in preserving cultural heritage within the local community.
The musicians, masters of traditional Indian instruments like the dhol, tabla, and harmonium, were instrumental in creating a vibrant festive atmosphere. Despite challenges with tight timelines and extensive documentation requirements under the Immigration Act 2009, we ensured a seamless process. By working closely with the association, we gathered key documents such as performance invitations, contracts, and evidence of the event’s cultural significance. Our proactive approach ensured the work visas were approved well ahead of the celebrations. The musicians’ performances not only delighted the audience but also strengthened cultural ties between New Zealand and India, showcasing the enduring power of music and tradition. Life’s twists and turns can reshape our plans, as one of our clients discovered when her relationship ended, affecting her visa status while she was still overseas. Unable to return to New Zealand on her Partner Visa, she sought our help to find a solution for staying in the country independently.
Her case was complex. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) had been informed by her ex-partner that their relationship had ended, invalidating her Partner Visa. With her return to New Zealand at stake, she needed a new visa urgently. Simon, our CEO and an immigration expert, recommended applying for an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). Fortunately, she had a job offer from a trusted New Zealand employer, providing a strong foundation for the application. We managed every detail of her application with precision, ensuring all paperwork was complete and accurately submitted. With our deep understanding of INZ processes, we navigated her case successfully. The result? She secured her AEWV, allowing her to work in New Zealand for up to five years independently. This wasn’t just about obtaining a visa; it marked the start of her fresh, independent journey. This success story highlights the importance of expert guidance in navigating complex visa situations. With the right support, even challenging circumstances can lead to new opportunities and a happy ending in New Zealand. A courageous British client, a survivor of years of domestic abuse, first approached us for help with her Section 61 application. Our team worked tirelessly to secure a positive outcome, ensuring she could take the first step towards her dream of living in New Zealand.
Recently, she returned to us for guidance on the next phase of her journey—a work visa application. Navigating New Zealand's evolving immigration rules can be challenging, but with clear advice and tailored support, we ensured the process was straightforward and stress-free for her. Building on our successful partnership during her Section 61 case, Simon and the team devoted themselves to achieving another positive result. We are delighted to share that her work visa has been approved. Now, we are excited to assist her with her Resident Visa application, continuing her path to a brighter future in New Zealand. The Wellington Indian Association is a cornerstone of cultural and religious unity, dedicated to preserving and promoting the vibrant traditions of India in New Zealand.
When the community faced the critical challenge of securing a religious worker visa for their cherished priest, who plays a vital role in nurturing their spiritual essence, they turned to us for support. Trusting in our expertise and longstanding partnership, the WIA president entrusted us with this essential task. Under Simon's leadership, we initiated a seamless process, starting with a comprehensive letter of engagement to outline the path forward. Our secure online portal facilitated efficient communication and ensured the meticulous handling of all required documentation. With mutual collaboration and WIA's prompt cooperation, the application was flawlessly submitted, leading to a successful outcome—a two-year religious worker visa. This achievement reflects our commitment to supporting ethnic organisations like WIA, strengthening cultural ties, and safeguarding the continuity of cherished traditions in New Zealand. Together, we celebrate this milestone, fostering unity and cultural prosperity. Let us help you create success stories that matter. |
