A client came to us after Immigration New Zealand (INZ) declined his Partnership-Based Work Visa due to character issues. He became unlawful and received a deportation order. Though his Deportation Appeal to the Immigration Protection Tribunal (IPT) was successful, granting him a 12-month open work visa, INZ declined his subsequent Partnership-Based Work Visa, leaving him unlawful again. A Section 61 request was also refused.
With significant character issues complicating his case, he engaged our firm to resolve his challenging situation. Simon worked meticulously for months, preparing a Ministerial Intervention, submitted in October last year. Today, the intervention was successful. His character issues have been permanently waived, and he has been granted a six-month work visa.
