This client faced a significant setback when her partnership-based work visa was declined while on an interim visa. In February 2021, she realised time was running out and sought a new licensed immigration adviser, feeling her previous adviser mishandled her case—particularly when they failed to apply for reconsideration after receiving a PPI letter.
She found our firm and consulted with Simon, our CEO, to address her challenging situation. After discussing her case in detail, she immediately signed a letter of engagement to begin working with Simon. During the case review, Simon discovered she had been unlawfully in New Zealand since 5 February 2021. Acting swiftly, Simon lodged a Section 61 request, which was granted within two weeks, restoring her legal status. Once her unlawful status was resolved, Simon focused on preparing a robust Partnership-Based Work Visa application. Working closely with the client, he meticulously gathered the required evidence to ensure no details were overlooked. Their hard work paid off, and the visa was approved. Elated by the result, the client re-engaged Simon for her Partnership-Based Resident Visa application. Thanks to the groundwork laid during the previous applications, this process was seamless, and Simon efficiently submitted the application to Immigration New Zealand (INZ). After 18 months of collaboration, the client received her Partnership-Based Resident Visa—a remarkable outcome that began with overcoming an unlawful status. This success highlights Simon's dedication to turning complex immigration challenges into life-changing victories.
