Apply for this visa if you have a critical purpose for coming to New Zealand and we have invited you to apply for a visa. With this visa you can travel to New Zealand even though the border is currently closed.

To apply for this visa you must first have an invitation from us to apply on the basis that you have a critical purpose to travel here. To get an invitation to apply, you must fill in the Request for travel to New Zealand form.

If you already have a visa, you can also use this form to request an invitation to vary the conditions of your visa to let you travel for a critical purpose.
If you are an employer you can request an invitation to apply to bring critical workers into New Zealand.

All I wanted is my daughter to be with me 😭

My daughter arrived in Tonga in November 2019 . In February 2020 I flew to Tonga to my Papas funeral and was meant to come back with my daughter but because I didn’t really have anyone to trust so I can leave my daughter when I go work I decided to leave her in Tonga and then bring her here for her birthday in July 2020 just went I arrived to NZ the last week of Feb 2020 the lockdown happened and the plan didn’t go well . In August 2020 I have tried to apply for my sister Expression of Interest (EOI) under the COVID-19 exception because she’s not citizen/permanent just for her to bring my daughter and will go back to Tonga for her studies but it keeps declined . I have tried 3 times and keeps on declined we given them strong reason why she’s coming and that she will be going back to Tonga . I’m 34 weeks pregnant and can’t travel to get my daughter from Tonga and also can’t go on isolate with her if she travel on her own . I don’t trust anyone apart from my family or close friends or close family to bring my daughter . Tonga is a free Covid-19 country and should have a chance . My daughter is 5 years old and she’s a Permanent Resident here in NZ . I hate seeing her crying and talking about coming back to me it really hurts my feeling knowing that I’m helpless . I’m fine that she’s with my mom in Tonga but at the same time it’s almost 1 year that we haven’t seen each other . She called me to wish me a Happy Birthday then I can see the little tears in her eyes knowing that she miss me and want to be with me . I have asked for so many immigration advise but couldn’t get any information to help me out . I want her to be here before I give birth to her little brother , I want her to be here while I have time off work , and I want her to be here just to spend more time with her . INZ have been a little strict right now . Why letting people from countries that have Covid-19 come and not letting people from countries that have Covid-19 free enter this country .
