Successful Unlawful/Section 61 Case 35

​This successful case was a long time coming. A gentleman approached our firm with his partner regarding his status in NZ at the time. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, he had been unlawfully staying in NZ for 12 years. They have been meaning to resolve this issue before and even consulted several lawyers, however, they could not find someone to whom they could confidently entrust the case.

They eventually found out about our firm online. After reading reviews from our previous clients, they decided to book a paid consultation with Simon, our CEO. During their phone meeting, they discussed what the situation was and its cause. Simon then advised the probabilities of success for this case, what issues they could face, and how to deal with them.

When the client engaged, Simon promptly started the Section 61 application. It was crucial to have all the facts laid out to INZ, so he spent a lot of time communicating with his client. When they finally submitted their application, they only waited for several days before INZ approved the Section 61.

Everyone was ecstatic when the result was received. The client successfully overcame the biggest hurdle of living with his family in NZ. The couple is looking forward to continuing working with Simon to make his dream a reality.

Note: The client and Simon never once met in person and conducted all communications through our advanced IT system. It was due to the restrictions on travelling and meetings because of Covid-19. However, when the restrictions got lifted, our firm decided to continue the no face-to-face meeting policy after we found out it was more practical and efficient.
