Our client had been staying unlawfully in NZ for some time, much to her distress. Unfortunate circumstances had prevented her from resolving the problem until now. Thankfully, one of our previous clients was kind enough to refer her to our firm.
Upon learning about her situation during her phone consultation with Simon, our CEO, he knew straightaway that he wanted to help her live a stress-free life again. Simon trusted that her unlawful status was really unintentional. As a matter of fact, before she got into her current situation, she was on her way to applying for her Work Visa and had a great job. Then she suddenly found herself in a dark situation that seemed almost impossible to get out of. Due to the confidentiality of this matter, we cannot discuss the details, only that it involved sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological manipulation, drug use, domestic violence and stalking.
Simon knew that it was not going to be easy and would take a lot of effort, but he was quite sure that with the client’s help, there was a great chance of a positive result.
Simon knew that the client had a difficult decision to make when it came to trusting someone with something as important as her case. After their 15-minute phone consultation, Simon prepared and sent her a letter of engagement. He gave the client time and space to reflect on the offer, and she eventually signed with only a few days’ delay.
With everything in order, Simon was prepared to take immediate steps towards working on her Section 61. This would become one of his toughest cases yet, but he was ready for the challenge.
The client worked with Simon on building the application. Using our online portal, they gathered information and fulfilled all the requirements before submitting the application to INZ.
Just after a couple of weeks, the client got wonderful news. Her Section 61 got approved with 6 months work visa. The client was ecstatic with the result. She did not expect that the result would come this quickly. Her journey is far from over as she is yet to engage with us for her Resident Visa, but now the road she’s taking is much less bumpy.
Note: When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, many businesses were forced to reevaluate the way they operated. For us, this meant shifting to a completely remote working model. Although this was initially difficult to adjust to, we quickly found it more efficient and practical to communicate with our clients online with our advanced IT system. So even when the restrictions were lifted, our firm decided to continue with the no face-to-face meeting policy, which saves time and money while still providing clients with high-quality service.
