​The client initially came to New Zealand on a student visa, supported by a relative who he thought was taking care of everything. However, issues arose that complicated his visa status, and he soon found out about his unlawful status. Not knowing what to do, he stayed in the country and eventually fell in love.
 
Unfortunately, his unlawful status in New Zealand was still a problem, and an unsuccessful application for a ministerial intervention led to a deportation order. With a travel ban, the client stayed in Fiji while his wife and daughter remained in New Zealand. It wasn't long before the difficulties of a long-distance relationship set in.
 
When the client's travel ban was lifted, he tried twice to apply for a visitor visa, but both attempts were declined. Determined to stay together, his wife found our immigration firm online and sought our help. After an initial consultation, they decided to apply for a ministerial intervention.
 
Our team worked closely with the client, despite not having any in-person meetings, to prepare and submit a request to the Associate Minister of Immigration. Throughout the process, we presented additional evidence to reinforce their case. After a period of uncertainty, we were thrilled to learn that their application was successful.
