2021 Resident Visa Statistics
In recent days there have been numerous individuals referencing high decline rates for Indian and Chinese nationals applying under the 2021 Resident Visa category. INZ can confirm that as at 26 January 2022, no applications under the 2021 Resident Visa category have been declined on the basis of failing to meet the criteria of this category. However, of the more than 12,500 applications received, around 307 applications have been withdrawn. An application may be withdrawn for a number of reasons including due to a client request. There were also a number of duplicate applications created as a result of the ICT issues that occurred when the 2021 Resident Visa category went live on 1 December that needed to be withdrawn. All of these withdrawals are included in the ‘decline’ figures and make up the figures being quoted. We would like to reinforce that to date no one has been declined on the basis of not meeting the 2021 Resident Visa criteria. The 2021 Resident Visa approvals and declines can be found from the below.
