A New Zealand resident partner initially supported our client’s Partnership-Based Work Visa application. However, their relationship ended, and the partner moved to Australia. Left in limbo, the client remained in New Zealand unlawfully for several years.
Eventually, he met and fell in love with an NZ citizen. He sought help from lawyers and applied for Section 61 twice, but both requests were declined. At this critical point, he booked a paid consultation with Simon, our CEO, who recommended applying for Ministerial Intervention. Once engaged with us, Simon worked closely with him for months to prepare a strong submission. The application to the Associate Minister of Immigration was successful. Following this, we submitted a Section 61 request for a six-month visa, as directed by the Associate Minister, which was also approved. The client now plans to work with us to secure New Zealand residency in his future visa applications.
