Successful Section 61 Case 38 (Unlawful)

26/11/2024

Our client had been living unlawfully in New Zealand, a situation that caused her immense distress. Circumstances beyond her control had prevented her from resolving the issue until a former client referred her to us.

During her consultation with Simon, our CEO, he immediately recognised her situation was both unintentional and urgent. Before her troubles began, she had a promising job and was preparing to apply for a Work Visa. Unfortunately, she became a victim of domestic violence, including sexual abuse, psychological manipulation, and stalking. These traumatic events led to her current predicament. Due to the sensitive nature of her case, we can't share further details.

Despite the complexity of the case, Simon was determined to help. Following their 15-minute phone consultation, Simon sent her a letter of engagement, allowing her time to make an informed decision. She quickly chose to trust us with her case.

With the engagement finalised, Simon promptly began working on her Section 61 request. Together, using our secure online portal, we compiled the necessary documentation and submitted the application to Immigration New Zealand (INZ).

In just a few weeks, her Section 61 was approved, granting her a 6-month Work Visa. She was overjoyed by the swift and positive outcome. While her journey isn't over—she will soon apply for a Resident Visa—the hardest part is now behind her.
