Our client, holding a 2021 Resident Visa application, was on a 2021 Interim Visa, issued to ensure lawful stay in New Zealand while awaiting a visa decision. Typically, interim visa holders cannot travel abroad, as the visa expires upon departure.
Initially, the client believed he would miss his brother’s wedding in Fiji. However, with recent changes allowing 2021 Interim Visa holders to travel upon request, we advised him to apply for a Work Visa. This enabled him, his wife, and his child to travel, attend the wedding, and return to New Zealand on valid visas. We’re thrilled to share their Work Visas were successfully approved, ensuring a memorable family reunion and a smooth return to New Zealand.
