Adon Kumar is a Malaysian Indian and now a Kiwi. He is passionate about helping migrants to settle well and succeed in New Zealand. He is a qualified ESOL/English lecturer and taught English for Employment at Unitec Institute of Technology. Prior to his teaching career, he worked in the IT sector in New Zealand as a consultant and Professional Services Manager for Unisys, ComputerLand, Southmark and Fujitsu for over 25 years. He also worked as the CEO of Wine-Searcher.com (a world-famous NZ web-based wine price comparison company).
 
Over the last two decades he has helped thousands of students, migrants and clients both in New Zealand and overseas in improving their English for Academic Purposes, IELTS, Employment, NZ Workplace Communication, Accent/Pronunciation improvement and for other reasons.
 
He holds a Master of Applied Linguistics from the University of Southern Queensland, Bachelor of Divinity from University of Melbourne, Bachelor of Arts (English) from the University of Madras, TrinityTESOL Cert (London) and Wine Qualification WSET London Lev 2. He is currently completing the Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). He is a member of NZ Institute of IT Professionals (IITP).
 
Adon is the Director of Goshen Consulting through which he delivers all his services. He is a prolific writer and is active on the professional social media channels.
 
He currently provides services to private individuals on a one-on-one basis, delivers training for staff at various companies and Private Training Establishments. As an Employment Coach, he meets with migrant clients to help develop their NZ Career Strategy, Write Target CV & Cover Letter, Prepare for Job Interviews, enlighten them on NZ Workplace Communication & Culture and in all other aspects of employment.  He runs regular Employment Workshops for Migrants for the Citizens Advice Bureau and NGOs at several locations in Auckland.
 
He previously produced and hosted his own Radio Program called “English for Migrants” on PlanetFM 104.6 in Auckland where dozens of his lessons are still accessible. His story has featured in the NZ Herald, the Air NZ in-flight magazine and publications in the USA and Europe. He has also appeared live on the Business Program on TV3.
 
When he is not engaged in the above activities, he is a part-time farmer and lives with his Kiwi wife on a 10-acre lifestyle farm in West Auckland on which he has 3 cows and 200 chestnut trees. He also serves the community as a Justice of the Peace (JP).
