Applied for a SMC resident Visa then changed to Partner Visa
Our client approached us using our paid consultation service. She wanted to apply for a Skilled Migrant Category Resident Visa. We prepared together for her EOI, which was selected from the EOI pool before the lockdown in March last year. Then despite the lockdown, we managed to prepare and submit her complete resident visa application (paper) within six months of her getting an Invitation to apply letter.
Her SMC has no case officer allocated for many months and based on the current immigration situation, she was advised that it would take more than two years for her resident visa to be processed.
She organised full consultation with Simon to access her option. She was advised to apply for a Partnership-based Resident Visa as she has been living with her partner, a New Zealand resident, which she did not mention to us until she had the consultation.
After careful preparation, we prepared and submitted her resident visa - partnership, and after several months it was approved.
Although INZ will introduce a new work visa policy and a new SMC resident visa policy, there will be no change to the current Partner Visa policy. If you are in a similar situation, please consider contacting us for consultation.
How you prepare documents and approach to the requests by your case officer will make a huge difference. We have been quite successful in many partnership-based Visa Applications. Before you decide to engage with us for your case, please test whether your case would succeed via our service below.
