Religious Worker Visa for Navratri 2022 

The Wellington Indian Association is a religious and cultural organization that represents the interests of the Indian community in New Zealand. The organization is responsible for promoting Indian culture and traditions, and for providing religious and spiritual guidance to its members.

​One of the most important events in the association's calendar is the Navratri, which is one of the main  events that they were not able to celebrate for the past couple of years due to Covid-19. They were hoping to finally be able to bring all their members together to celebrate, and a priest has a very significant role in this festival. The Wellington Indian Association has therefore approached us for a visa for a priest who plays a significant role in their Navratri 2022 celebrations.

As soon as the WIA’s representative engaged with Simon, our CEO, for their application, he prepared the paperwork and guided the priest with all the requirements needed by INZ. In addition to the priest, they were also applying for their musicians’ visas. The musicians, like the priest, would play vital parts in their upcoming celebrations.

However, while the musicians’ visas were granted, there were some delays with the religious worker visa. Because of this, Simon decided to send a request for urgent processing to INZ. The Navratri 2022 is scheduled for 26 September to 5 October, so they only had a few days left.

Thankfully, we received a favourable outcome shortly after Simon requested the urgent processing. INZ granted the religious visa and the association’s celebrations will now be complete.
 
Note: When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, many businesses were forced to reevaluate the way they operated. For us, this meant shifting to a completely remote working model.
