​Due to personal loss and grief, this client,  who has maintained a consistent record of compliance since 2002, experienced an oversight in managing her visa. Unaware that her most recent visa had expired in 2021, she only became aware of this situation upon receiving a notification from INZ in July 2023.

  • Never previously unlawful in NZ, but had some police issues back in the USA (which will be sorted when we work on her Partnership-based work visa application)

What was the course of action?

  • The client organised a paid consultation with Simon, our CEO.
  • During the consultation, she discussed her issues, and Simon considered if he could help her.
  • She signed the letter of engagement and paid the first instalment.
  • Using our secure online portal, we communicated and prepared for the submission.
  • We submitted the application smoothly. This was entirely possible due to the client’s thorough cooperation.

What was the result?

​We received a Successful Section 61 – 3 month visitor visa, enough time to prepare for the client’s application for Partnership-based Visa! 
Note: The client and Simon never once met in person and conducted all communications through our advanced IT system. It was due to the restrictions on travelling and meetings because of Covid-19. However, when the restrictions got lifted, our firm decided to continue the no face to face meeting policy after we found out it was more practical and efficient.
