Finding a New Way in New Zealand: From Partner Visa Problem to Work Visa Success
Life can take unexpected turns, affecting our plans in big ways. This is what happened to one of our clients when her relationship ended, changing her visa status while she was still out of New Zealand. This made it hard for her to come back to New Zealand, so she reached out to us for help to find a way to stay in the country on her own.
Her situation was tricky because her previous Partner Visa wasn’t valid anymore. Her ex-partner had told Immigration New Zealand (INZ) they were no longer together, which meant she couldn’t use her visa to enter New Zealand. She needed a new plan fast.
Simon, our CEO and an expert in immigration, suggested she should apply for an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). She had a job offer from a trusted employer in New Zealand, which was a good start for this new visa.
We took care of everything with great attention to detail. We made sure all the paperwork was right and filled in all the forms carefully. We know how INZ works, so we could guide her application through the process successfully.
In the end, she got her AEWV, allowing her to work in New Zealand for up to five years without depending on anyone else. This was more than just getting a visa; it was her stepping stone to start fresh and be independent.
This story shows how important it is to have the right help, especially when facing difficult visa situations in New Zealand. It’s about moving forward, gaining independence, and how our support can lead to a happy ending in New Zealand.
Note: The client and Simon never once met in person and conducted all communications through our advanced IT system. It was due to the restrictions on travelling and meetings because of Covid-19. However, when the restrictions got lifted, our firm decided to continue the no face to face meeting policy after we found out it was more practical and efficient.
