This is a case for siblings from Afghanistan who had wanted to pursue their higher education in New Zealand. They have been living most of their lives in the UAE where they had comfortable lives and access to prestigious universities. However, their hearts were set on studying at an NZ university. They contacted our firm through their family friend, who later worked with Simon, our CEO, throughout the process.
The journey for their Student Visas was not smooth. Simon worked with their family friend to build their student visa applications. Because one of the siblings got a declined visa from Canada before, it added a complication to the case, and unfortunately, it got declined.
Meanwhile, the other sibling received an approved visa. Simon and the clients did not want to give up on the dream just yet, instead they regrouped to build a stronger case and decided to apply again. In addition to the new application of the declined sibling, they wanted to apply for a variation of conditions to the other sibling’s approved visa, so that they could go together and study together in New Zealand.
The reapplication was not easy, and the effort had to be doubled with the application for variation of conditions. Several requirements were asked of them, and they had to communicate back and forth with the case officers. However, Simon was determined to have the siblings reach their dreams of studying together in NZ. After fulfilling all the requirements of INZ, all their joint efforts paid off, the siblings both received their student visas and are now scheduled to fly to NZ.
Since the clients are abroad and the applications were done offshore, the clients and Simon never once met in person and just conducted all communications through our advanced IT system. After the global Covid-19 situation, we also discovered that a no-face-to-face meeting policy is more practical and efficient in handling business communications and decided to use it permanently.
