What was the immigration concern?

A couple of years ago, a gentleman approached us to assist with his partner’s case. Her case was previously managed by a licensed immigration adviser, but when complications arose, the adviser felt unable to handle them and suggested he find someone else. By the time we intervened, the case officer had almost completed his assessment of his partner’s resident visa application due to her character issue, and it was declined.

When their previous licensed immigration adviser encountered challenges responding to multiple PPI requests from the case officer, they were recommended to find another experienced immigration adviser or lawyer. Despite initial setbacks with the case officer's decision to decline the application, Simon immediately proposed a Residence Visa Appeal to the IPT. The appeal to the IPT was successful, leading the application to be flagged for INZ reassessment. In the midst of the process, she faced unforeseen complications:

Through perseverance and attention to detail, the partnership-based resident visa was eventually granted. The journey, though challenging, was successfully completed in two and a half years.
 
The case revolved around a declined Partnership-based resident visa due to character issues, a Residence Appeal to the IPT, becoming Unlawful/Section 61, a character waiver, and the successful attainment of the partnership-based resident visa at the end.

Note: The client and Simon never once met in person and conducted all communications through our advanced IT system. It was due to the restrictions on travelling and meetings because of Covid-19.
