All of Immigration NZ offices closed
Under alert level 4, INZ (Immigration New Zealand) must also close its visa processing offices in New Zealand. This significantly reduces INZ's ability to operate, so INZ is only able to process a small number of priority applications.
All INZ’s overseas offices are closed for the foreseeable future as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. While INZ has a small number of staff operating from INZ's Head Office in Wellington, their priority is dealing with any COVID-19 requests. Responses are being prioritised based on the direction of Government for exceptional cases. No visa processing
No other visa applications are being processed at this time. INZ prioritises Section 61 requests and temporary visa holders who expire on or before 1 April 2020.
What to do if your visa is due to expire?
1) If your temporary visa expires on or before 1st April 2020.
: You MUST make an online application on or by 1st April 2020. Upon the application, you will be issued an Interim Visa, which will have the same visa condition to the visa you currently hold. It is valid for six months, allowing your continued stay until a decision can be made on your full extension application.
2) If your temporary visa is due to expire between 2nd April and 9th July (inclusive).
: You will have your visa automatically extended to late September. You will be advised by email on or before the expiry date of your current visa.2) If your temporary visa is due to expire between 2nd April and 9th July (inclusive).
3) If your temporary visa expires after 9th July.
